Serial Entrepreneur Kim Guarino
Selected as One Hot Momma

Alexandria, VA (April 15, 2011) Alexandria resident Kim Guarino, founder and president of Evolve Marketing, has been selected as one Hot Momma… one of the top 25 Hot Mommas of 2011 as part of George Washington University’s Hot Mommas Project.

The Hot Mommas Project (www.hotmommasproject.org) is an award-winning women's leadership program at GWU’s School of Business (business.gwu.edu) with the mission of motivating women and girls across the country through exposure to case studies from successful role models. Guarino and other award winners will be honored at a banquet on May 3 at George Washington University.

Guarino's case study is titled: Redefining Success: The Evolution of the Serial Entrepreneur. At 27, Kim founded her first company. At 32, she merged with two firms to form her second firm and at 36, sold her shares and started her third company, Evolve Marketing. Today, at 40, she describes herself as "the mother of an energetic two-year-old, wife to an amazing husband, owner of a successful marketing consultancy and recovering workaholic."

A marketing pro with 18 years of experience, Guarino was recognized in 2007 as the National Leader of the Year by the American Marketing Association (AMA), the second volunteer ever to receive this lifetime achievement award. For over a decade, Kim served as an active leader for the AMA-DC chapter, the third largest chapter nationwide with over 900 members, serving as a board of director from 2001 to 2008 and chapter president from 2005-2006. Her team has been recognized numerous times for results including four Marketer of the Year Awards at the AMA "M Awards" and Small Business of the Year
in 2005.

A passion for mentoring up-and-coming marketers and startups, Guarino has been teaching marketing and entrepreneurship courses as adjunct faculty for the last six years at George Mason University, Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University. She holds a MS in Marketing from Johns Hopkins University and BBA in Marketing from James Madison University.

Kim Guarino leads EVOLVE Marketing, a virtual CMO and marketing advisory firm for startups and growth firms, in Alexandria, VA. She also teaches viral marketing and entrepreneurship courses as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and is an active community leader with several local nonprofits.
